Jen Stark

Jen Stark is an artist who makes paper sculptures.

According to her website, her work "draws inspiration from microscopic patterns in nature, wormholes, and sliced anatomy."

Cosmic Shift, 2015, hand-cut acid-free colored paper, foam board, glue, acrylic paint, wood, varnish, 37 x 24 x 25 in.

     Cosmographic , 2014, acid-free paper, holographic paper, glue, wood, acrylic paint, 34 x 37 x 4 in. Inside Out (detail) , 2014, acid-free paper, foamboard, glue, wood, acrylic paint, varnish, 32.25 x 18 x 18 in.

This one is my favorite. Even though it is extremely colorful, it gives off a threatening aura.

 Box 1, 2014, acid-free paper, foamboard, glue, MDF, paint, 10 x 10 x 10.25 in.

I like this one too. The "splash" edges make it look quirky and more friendly.

 Box 4, 2014, acid-free paper, foamboard, glue, MDF, paint, 10 x 10 x 10 1/4 in.

This is another version. Both of them look organic...-fungal

 Glow (detail), 2013, acid-free paper , holographic paper , glue, wood, acrylic paint , 63 x 40 x 4 in.

 Micros (Green), 2012, hand-cut acid-free paper, glue, wood, 2 x 2 x 1 in each Pedestal, 2013, acid-free paper, foam core, MDF, paint, glue, 22 x 22 x 36 in

  1. cool as heck. really like all the colors and patterns and shapes and how they make your eyes sort of twist. i like the ones with the sparkly paper the best. the two more flat ones i guess.
